My name is Corey. I am a certified elementary school teacher. I taught for 5 years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. As a parent, I understand that you are your child’s first teacher and best playmate. You have a significant influence on your toddler’s learning experiences. However, life with a little one is demanding and finding time to come up with meaningful activities for you and your child to do together is sometimes difficult. Teach Your Tot was created to make this job a little easier for you. When you register with Teach Your Tot, you will receive a weekly email that contains a variety of fun meaningful activities for you and your toddler to do together. These activities will be based around a weekly theme. Being a mom of two little ones, I understand that time and money are often limited. Therefore, the activities that we provide can be put together quickly with objects that can be found around the house.
Many of the activities that are provided through Teach Your Tot, I taught to my students. I have adapted them so that they are age appropriate for toddlers. However, you know your child best. Use the activities and themes, that are provided, according to your child's ability and interest level. Teach Your Tot is not meant to be a structured learning program, we want these activities to be fun above all.
As a parent, I get most of my support from other parents. It is comforting to know that other parents experience the same ups and downs as I do. This site will allow parents to share their ideas and experiences with others through our message board. I want to provide a place for us to be able to chat and make friends.
